About Me

Welcome to my blog. My name is Sandra...and I love to sew and quilt! For as long as I can remember, quilting has been a part of my family heritage. My mother and both of my grandmothers were quilt makers. They often relied on thrifty means to produce beautiful patchwork quilts. In addition to making quilts for family members, they were also active in the ladies missionary aid society at our local church.

In years past, women gathered in churches across this nation to fellowship in unity, meet needs within their communities, and to raise support for those serving on the mission field. I was fortunate enough to
grow up in such a church. In fact, when the above photo was taken, I was a small child sitting under the
quilt.  Looking back, I credit much of my passion for sewing and serving others to the example these
women set before me.

My prayer is that this blog will inspire those who visit to develop not only their sewing skills, but also to sow seeds of peace in within their communities. James 3:18 tells us that "Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness."

May you always Sew in Peace!
